The Simpsons celebrates 20 years this week, as matriarch Marge is revealed in the latest edition of Playboy.
Celebrations began yesterday at a "yellow-carpet" event in California, which saw the whole Simpson clan join with creator Matt Groening to pay tribute the longest-running US sitcom, animated programme and primetime scripted entertainment show.
But it's Simpsons Mom Marge who has made the headlines this week, appearing nude on the cover of Playboy for a raunchy shoot which includes photos of her in a see-through pink negligee and another in black suspenders.
Reports quote Al Jean, executive producer, as saying: "Well, I talked to Marge today - she's a little embarrassed.
"She wanted people to know the photo is Photoshopped. It's really the body of Wilma Flintstone."
Groening said he always thought the show would be a success but it still felt "weird".
He said: "The fact that we're still standing here some 20 years later and talking about it is very peculiar," he said. "But very happy."
