The nominations for the 2010 Brit awards have been announced, with Lily Allen, Lady GaGa and JLS the frontrunners with three nods each.
La Roux, pop singer Pixie Lott, who also has three nominations, performed at the launch along with Critics' Choice winner Ellie Goulding.
Allen and Florence and the Machine, who will perform at the Brits ceremony itself on February 16th, face off in both the best British female and best British album categories.
The best British male award will be contested between Robbie Williams - who is also receiving the outstanding contribution prize - Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Mika and Paolo Nutini.
Dizzee is also nominated for the best British album prize while nominees for the single category include Alesha Dixon, Alexandra Burke, X Factor winner Joe McElderry and his mentor Cheryl Cole.
The 2010 Brits includes two new categories, with the best live act and best international group awards scrapped for commemorative prizes.
The Brits Album of 30 Years will be decided by Radio 2 listeners, who will select their favourite from a shortlist of the ten best-selling albums to have won the best album Brit.
The albums shortlisted include LPs by Coldplay, Keane, Dido and Oasis.
The Most Memorable Brits Performance of 30 Years trophy, to be voted for by ITV and GMTV viewers, could be awarded to Michael Jackson's infamous performance at the 1996 ceremony, during which Jarvis Cocker invaded the stage.
