Kym Marsh, best known as lead singer in the poptastic Hear'Say, has landed herself a role in a top TV soap.
The raven-haired all-rounder will soon be setting foot on the cobbles of Coronation Street.
She will play a flirtatious singer called Michelle who winds up Liz McDonald by chatting up her musician boyfriend Vernon.
Kym told the Daily Mirror: "This is like a dream come true for me. I've been watching Coronation Street since I was three years old."
She has initially been signed up for four episodes but the job could become more long-term.
"If all goes well I'm really hoping I can be another Karen McDonald - a likeable lady with serious attitude," she said.
The former singer has branched out into a few areas of showbusiness since leaving the reality television band.
She has taken part in daytime chat show Loose Women, acted on Holby City, and sang her heart out to try and represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Kym's debut Corrie scene will be broadcast to the nation next Monday when her character auditions for Vernon's band, singing Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time.
