Controversial television presenter Jonathan Ross is to present the Bafta film awards next month, it has emerged.
The chatshow host and disc jockey wrote on his online Twitter blog that he will host the prestigious ceremony on February 8th.
After his three-month suspension from the BBC, Ross withdrew from hosting the British Comedy awards last year, with Angus Deayton replacing him as compere.
But with his chatshow returning to the screens next week (Friday January 23rd) and his Radio 2 and film review programmes following shortly after, Ross' comeback is set to continue at one of the biggest events in British film.
The 47-year-old asked readers who regularly follow his Twitter blog to "suggest an improbable word that I have to slip into the Baftas when I host them in February".
Ross was suspended from the BBC in November over his involvement in the prank phone calls made on Russell Brand's Radio 2 show to veteran actor Andrew Sachs.
Meanwhile, this year's Baftas will be shown across three of its channels for the first time.
A BBC3 programme will show the arrival of the attendees at the Royal Opera House in London, before the ceremony is first shown on BBC2 and then BBC1 for its final hour.
Mark Linsey, acting controller of entertainment commissioning at the BBC, said: "This is the night of the year when all eyes of the film world are on the UK.
"BBC programming has been extended to reflect the whole evening, providing viewers with the extraordinary scenes on the red carpet in Covent Garden, in addition to the glittering ceremony to celebrate a wonderful year of achievement in film."
