The live tour featuring finalists from this year's series of The X Factor has been extended due to fans' desire to see Irish twins John and Edward.

The Grimes brothers, who were voted off the ITV1 show last weekend, have become hugely popular during the series, despite their clear lack of musical ability.

And after their exit on Sunday thousands of fans bought the remaining tickets for the live tour next year, causing organisers to add extra dates.

Extra nights have been added in Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Sheffield and Cardiff to "accommodate the high volume of ticket requests" after "John and Edward's departure from the show", organisers told the BBC.

Matinee concerts will also be added to dates at Wembley Arena and the O2 Arena in London.

The X Factor finalists confirmed for the tour are Lucie Jones, Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry, Lloyd Daniels, Jamie Archer, Olly Murs, Danyl Johnson and the infamous John and Edward.
