Irish twins John and Edward have been named as the latest act to leave the current series of The X Factor, on the day the contestants' charity single debuted at number one.
The brothers - dubbed 'Jedward' by their fans and the media - found themselves in the bottom two along with solo singer Olly Murs but saw their remarkable ride come to an end on Sunday evening.
With Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh unsurprisingly voting to save their own acts, the choice was left to Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.
Cheryl told the Grimes twins she would miss them while Dannii asked to clarify if the show was a "singing competition" before sending John and Edward home.
Speaking to GMTV on Monday, the twins said they were "honoured" to have progressed as far as they did.
They said they were "up for any challenge" and were looking forward to next year's X Factor tour, where they are expected to be the main draw.
"The tour is coming up next year so we're really excited about that. We just want to throw ourselves into that," they said.
The pair had sung a rendition of Boyzone's No Matter What on last night's show while Murs sang for his survival with a version of Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight.
Mariah Carey and Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle performed on Sunday's show while Cowell had dual cause for celebration as both the X Factor finalists' charity single and Leona Lewis' album reached number one.
