Outspoken journalist and former I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant Janet Street-Porter has been arrested over racism allegations.
The former Independent on Sunday editor was bailed by Scotland Yard detectives after voluntarily attending a police station yesterday.
She is understood to have been accused of racially abusing another woman and will return to speak further with police officers next month.
"[Yesterday] a 59-year-old woman attended a north London police station by appointment and was arrested in connection with an alleged racially aggravated public order offence," a spokesman for the Metropolitan police said.
"She was later bailed to return in February pending further inquiries."
Ms Street-Porter is arguably most famous for her thick London accent, distinctive glasses and toothy smile.
She has worked for the BBC and Mirror Group and was jointly in charge of the failed television station L!VE TV with former Mirror editor Kelvin McKenzie in 1995.
A surprise contestant on the 2004 version of ITV's I'm a Celeb, she eventually finished fourth behind winner Joe Pasquale.
