Ex-Baywatch icon David Hasselhoff was admitted to hospital after colliding with a chandelier while shaving, his publicist has confirmed.
The 53-year-old all-round entertainer was so engrossed in maintaining his wholesome clean-cut image while at the swanky West End Sanderson Hotel, that he completely misjudged a low-flying chandelier, with shards of glass becoming lodged in his right-arm.
Judy Katz explained that he received surgery to repair his tendons at nearby St Thomas' hospital.
"He's fine. He's out of the hospital and will continue working," she said.
Hasselhoff, or the Hoff as he prefers to be known, is currently in the UK filming a TV advert for broadband firm Pipex.
The actor, who illuminated the 1980s with his performance as lifeguard extraordinaire Mitch Buchannon and flawed genius Michael "Knight Rider" Knight, recently shattered the dreams of literally dozens of children when he pulled out of his role of Captain Hook in a pantomime version of Peter Pan at the Wimbledon theatre.
