Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff was reportedly barred from boarding a plane at Londons Heathrow airport yesterday, after turning up for his flight drunk.
The 54-year-old actor - nicknamed The Hoff - told a US magazine earlier this week that he had beaten his battle with the booze.
But The Sun newspaper claims that the cult TV star was banned from a British Airways (BA) flight to Los Angeles yesterday morning after being told by the airlines staff that he was in no state to board the plane.
The paper claims that the star had arrived at BAs first-class passenger lounge reeking of booze.
He was allegedly seen by passengers staggering around, mumbling to fellow travellers and attempting to pick up a shop manageress at one of Heathrows retail outlets.
The actor also reportedly told BA staff that he was upset about his recent divorce from his estranged wife Pamela after 16 years.
One witness told The Sun: "He wasnt aggressive, he just had problems standing. He was clearly drunk."
The Hoff reportedly agreed with BA officials that he was unfit to board his 10:05 GMT flight and was allowed to board another plane two hours later.
A BA spokesman confirmed: "A male passenger was denied boarding on the BA279 Heathrow to Los Angeles service because he was deemed unfit for travel."
"He was assessed later and passed fit to fly on BA283."
