Donations which have flooded in to Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) following the role it played in taking Richard Hammond to hospital will help it to purchase a second helicopter.
The Top Gear presenter is said to be doing "very well" in his recovery following his high-speed car crash last week.
According to the BBC, Hammond could be transferred to a hospital closer to his home outside Cheltenham if his progress continues.
Donations from the presenter's supporters to YAA, which airlifted him to Leeds General Infirmary, have reached over £200,000.
Air Ambulance chief executive Martin Eede announced that the funds would be used to purchase a new helicopter to be named "Hammy's Heli" after his co-presenters affectionate nickname for Hammond.
A statement from YAA on its site said: "As we can't thank you all personally can we say a massive 'thank you' to everyone in setting up and then contributing to the sites for Richard Hammond. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time."
Meanwhile the Sugababes told the Sun newspaper that they would be happy to sing by Hammond's bedside if it would help his recovery process.
The BBC has begun its own inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Hammond's crash, with reports claiming that the Top Gear presenter was filming an attempt to break the British land speed record when the accident occurred.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and police are also conducting investigations into the crash.
