It would be an "utter disaster" if Irish twins John and Edward won the current series of The X Factor, according to judge Simon Cowell.
Despite regular criticism from the judging panel for their weak singing, the pair have remained in the competition and are one of nine acts left on the ITV1 show.
Cowell had said it was a "joke" that John and Edward were voted through by the public while his own act Danyl Johnson was left in the bottom two and the music mogul admitted he would not be impressed were 'Jedward' - as the duo have been dubbed by their fans - to win the show.
"If they win, it will be a complete and utter disaster," he said. "I'd probably sulk for about six months [and] get on a very fast plane out of the country."
He added: "I'm just praying it's not John and Edward. To be fair, we put them in a competition where it's a public vote, and we have to live, unfortunately, with the public vote.
"The fact is, it's a singing competition, and they can't sing. I don't dislike them as people. I just don't think they are the act we were looking for."
Speaking at a press conference to confirm his patronage of the Children's Hospices UK charity, Cowell also criticised early show favourite Stacey Solomon.
"She's like a singing candle," he told journalists. "She hasn't moved in three weeks."
The 50-year-old confirmed a meeting had been held after Sunday night's results show saw Danyl and girlband Miss Frank in the bottom two but added: "It was simply to say I thought that Saturday's show song choices and performances weren't as good as I would have expected and that we have got to dig a bit deeper."
