Being a successful popstar means giving up your private life, according to Cheryl Cole.

The Girls Aloud star made the headlines last year after details of her footballer's husband cheating hit the tabloids.

Speaking to Jonathan Ross this Friday, the singer is to explain that celebrities are as imperfect as anyone.

While the X Factor judge will joke about the state of her marriage, saying: "I was tempted to put it [the ring] back on – in his head!" she is to admit that the pressures of fame can cause strain for celebrity couples.

"There's no such thing as a private life in this industry," she tells the chatshow host this Friday.

"I spoke openly about my marriage in the past and it's come back to hit me in the face... I learnt from the past that you shouldn't do that."

She will add: "There's something about celebrities having a perfect life. People need to relax and realise we're human, too."

Cole also moves to dismiss rumours that she has a testy relationship with fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.

"We're both grown women," she explains. "There's more arguing going on with Simon [Cowell] and Louis [Walsh]!"

Cole's interview with Jonathan Ross can be seen this Friday at 22:35 on BBC1.
