Actor Charlie Sheen must attend a hearing in Colorado having been arrested on allegations of domestic violence, a judge has ruled.
The Two and a Half Men star was detained on Christmas Day for second degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief in the Aspen ski resort in Colorado, having reputedly held a knife to wife Brooke Mueller's throat.
His lawyers had requested that the 44-year-old be permitted to participate by phone in a January 20th hearing regarding a protective order between Sheen and Mueller but the petition has been denied.
The Reuters news agency also reports that Platoon actor is scheduled to appear at a February 8th hearing to be formally charged by Colorado prosecutors.
According to police documents released after Sheen's arrest, he told Mueller: "You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I'll kill you.
"I have ex-police I can hire who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace," he is said to have added.
After being released on bail on Christmas Day, Sheen flew to Los Angeles after being released on bail while Mueller, 32, remains in Aspen with the couple's twin boys.
However, they are believed to be attempting to reconcile, with both parties' lawyers saying the couple remain "very much in love".
