Big Brother 10 contestants Sophia Brown and Saffia Corden have collided in the first major argument of the new series.

On the day on which Beinazir Lasharie became the first person evicted from the tenth season of the Channel 4 show, Sophia and Saffia clashed over a previous task.

This year's Big Brother contestants had been required to earn housemates status through completing tasks and Sophia, a private banking assistant, dubbed beauty consultant Saffia as 'selfish' for putting herself forward for a task on day two.

Though Saffia explained her volunteering for the tasks by describing the atmosphere in the house as "dog eat dog", Sophia continued to complain about Saffia's behaviour.

Saffia, 27, told Sophia: "We're non-housemates, we don't know what's happening - it's a dog eat dog world, we've got the fight for our corner. We'd have all done the same."

Mother-of-two Saffia added she had tried to make an effort and reconcile with Sophia only for the 26-year-old to refuse to speak to her.

Though she is an official housemate, Sophia continued to express her irritation at life in the house, firstly complaining about Kris Donnelly, Charlie Drummond and Sophie Reade - whose name has been changed to Dogface as part of a task - playing a prank on her and stealing her celebratory champagne.

She also looked to have not forgotten her spat with Saffia, adding: "She's trying to look an angel for her little clique. I still don't trust her - I think she's a performer for the cameras."
