The Big Brother 10 housemates have been told the winner will receive no money after the group staged a failed escape attempt.
A video posted on the reality show's official website saw the remaining contestants told the cash prize was being withdrawn as a result of their attempted break-out.
The cancellation of the cash prize came after housemates had escaped from the house and into the surrounding camera run having been told during a space-themed task that they were "boring" Big Brother and needed to do something "entertaining".
A subsequent announcement said: "As a result Big Brother has reduced the prize fund from £100,000 to zero."
"Over the course of the next ten days Big Brother will give housemates a series of opportunities to attempt to win the prize fund back."
Brazilian student Rodrigo protested angrily to Big Brother after the announcement, marching into the diary room to complain the group had only done as they were told.
David and Charlie, however, said they were glad there was to be no reward for winning the show.
The decision to scrap the prize money came on the same day Channel 4 announced it would axe the reality show after a final series in 2010.
