Cage fighter Alex Reid has been crowned the winner of the final series of Celebrity Big Brother, with singer Dane Bowers finishing second.
Reid, the on-off boyfriend of glamour model Katie Price, topped the public vote to be named the winner of the last series of the Channel 4 reality show.
Footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones, the early bookmakers' favourite, finished third while actress Stephanie Beacham and DJ Basshunter were evicted earlier on Friday evening.
"What an amazing, fantastic start to a new year," Reid said after leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Asked by presenter Davina McCall how he had won over the public, Reid replied: "I'm speechless. My whole agenda in here was just to be myself. I know I'm a good guy."
And in answered to the question "who is Alex Reid?", he said: "He's a man, he's passionate, he's going to win a fight in three months. I'm a fighter and I'm a man in love."
Though the audience booed Reid's mention of his on-off girlfriend, he retorted: "I'm sorry guys, I'm not sorry, I love Katie Price. I really love her."
A new series of Big Brother, starring members of the public, will begin in the summer.
