Bosses at the BBC and ITV are engaged in a bidding battle over in-demand actress Billie Piper, reports reveal.
The Doctor Who star has been offered deals worth in excess of £1 million a year by both channels, either of which would make her one of the best paid actors on TV.
But Piper, 23, is still to decide on her future which has resulted in both sides offering her a series of tempting roles.
A source told the Daily Star today: "There's big money on the table and drama chiefs reckon she's worth every penny because she's a proven talent and looks great."
The insider added: "But money is no longer the key for Billie it all comes down to who can give her the roles she wants."
Formerly a pop star, Billie proved she was more than just a pretty face on screen when she won a National TV Awards Best Actress gong last year for her role as Rose in the Beeb's rehashed Dr Who series.
