The comical quotes from the foul-mouth of a 73-year-old granddad are to be made into sitcom, reports say.
Justin Halpern, 29, set up a Twitter feed documenting the pearls of wisdom of his father, sparking 700,000 people to follow him on the micro-blogging site.
Now Mr Halpern has been awarded a contract with CBS, with Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick set to produce a pilot sitcom about a family blessed with a grumpy, foul-mouthed grandfather. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Halpern will co-write the CBS project.
It is believed Halpern already has a book deal with Harper Collins about his father's rants, which include:
"You worry too much. Eat some bacon... What? No, I got no idea if it'll make you feel better, I just made too much bacon."
"You need to flush the toilet more than once...No, YOU, YOU specifically need to. You know what, use a different toilet. This is my toilet."
"Tennessee is nice. The first time I vomited was in tennessee, I think."
"The baby will talk when he talks, relax. It ain't like he knows the cure for cancer and he just ain't spitting it out."
