Grammy-winning singer Amy Winehouse is expected to release a new album next year, according to her record label.
The 26-year-old's last LP, Back to Black, has sold more than ten million copies and won five Grammy awards.
But the soul star's well-documented personal problems, including drug abuse and health issues, have prevented her from completing a follow-up to the album.
According to Darcus Beese, co-president of her record label Island, Winehouse has been recording her new album in "fits and starts".
"I've heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me," he added.
"Hopefully we'll have her album next year."
Lucian Grange, head of Island's parent company Universal Music Group, has dubbed Winehouse's new material as "sensational".
The Rehab star is to make her TV comeback on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, appearing as a backing singer for her 13-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.
The teenager was the first signing to Winehouse's own record label Lioness.
