Hot on the heels of his recent Radio 2 Record of the Week smash Reset To Zero, singer-songwriter Anthoney Wright unveils his debut album on March 2nd.
Entitled Feet On The Ground, the album sizzles through 11 soulful tracks including current single No Me Without You.
The artist has a voice that captures the best of Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Prince to newcomers like Lemar.
His songwriting is inspired by his ability to start up conversations with complete strangers.
He said: "We don't talk to each other enough. If we did we would be able to overcome some of our fears which often turn into prejudices."
Practising Buddhist Anthoney includes running, meditation and boxing as part of his daily routine.
His debut album opens with the sexy crackle of Wud If I Cud before segueing into the 70s-styled yearning beauty of Been So Long.
His Radio 2 hit, Reset To Zero, is the next track, and bubbles with hot summery soul that has a distinctly Californian sensibility.
Reset To Zero surely has the blessings of Marvin Gaye and Al Green bestowed upon it.
When you listen to the track, you're instantly transported to balmy July evenings with your honey by your side and a cool beer in your hand.
Current single No Me Without You is up next, with its sweltering city at night atmosphere and delicious soaring vocals.
Track five is the lilting tearjerker I'm A Fool For You Now that evokes the majestic touches of the Temptations and Marvin Gaye.
It's a song that has classic soul written all over it and deserves to be the next single release, especially with the bold and emotive 'take it to the bridge' surge halfway through.
Looking Through The Window picks up the pace and echoes the Four Tops with a hint of early 90s act the Pasadenas. It's good-time soul with so much love at its core.
Towards the end of the album is the brilliant early 70s menace and anger of A Little Piece Of Everything, a socially aware number that grabs you from the very beginning, bolstered by Anthoney's exquisite vocals and thrilling blasts of brass.
The album closes with the haunting pop of Tell Me How that benefits from the production skills of Pete and Steve Lewinson, the duo behind the vitality of current single No Me Without You.
Commenting on his music and what inspires it, Anthoney said: "Everyone has a love story and each one is different, this is what inspires me. I love life and it never ceases to thrill me."
