High-pitched vocals accompanied by a Mellotron proto-synthesiser thing.
What's it all about?
Apparently, it's the "aural equivalent of twinkling Christmas lights".

Swedish duo Mattias Olsson and Anna Karin von Malmborg aka AK Momo.

So is it any good?
The twee, saccharine sound of Anna Karin Von Malmborg's voice is undercut by often dark, menacing lyrics, however Return to NY is not overly pleasant to listen to. The singer's vocals are a bit like Kate Bush or Minnie Riperton - on helium.
The music has a weird and antiquated vibe - reminiscent of something that might have accompanied one of Ivor Cutler's surreal songs, but at least Ivor Cutler is funny.
Nevertheless, NME has given the project its approval, so some 'music fans' may appreciate the efforts of AK Momo.
