Whitney Houston is to auction off hundreds of belongings, including numerous stage outfits.
Music equipment and awards will be included in the sale on Tuesday January 9th along with props from shows including a leather whip and slot machine.
As to why the sale is taking place, rumours are rife.
It has been reported that the auction has been made necessary after her corporation failed to pay the bills for their storage, amounting to some $200,000.
But her publicist has said that she is unaware of any outstanding fees.
"The auction consists of old equipment from past tours that she doesn't need anymore. It's not unusual for artists to sell off staging and equipment not in use anymore," she said.
If the auction is due to debt then it is the latest financial crisis for Houston. She almost lost the New Jersey home she once shared with estranged husband Bobby Brown after falling behind on payments.
However a deal was struck and the debt has been paid off.
