A teenager has died at the Rock Ness festival on the outskirts of Inverness, police have confirmed.
Ryan Munro, 18 was found unconscious by Red Cross staff in front of the main stage at the event.
He was treated at the scene and but died later at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
About 30,000 had been expected to attend the music event on the banks of Loch Ness across Saturday and Sunday.
Supt David O'Connor, of Northern Constabulary, said Mr Munro was removed unconscious by first aiders from the front of the main stage at about 1430 BST on Saturday.
"He was treated at the A&E field hospital here by a consultant and taken to hospital where sadly he died.
"Any death in any set of circumstances is tragic and we have been extremely saddened by it. Our condolences must go out to the family of the youth involved," he said.
Supt O'Connor added the mood at the event had been friendly with little in the way of public disorder.
The death of Ryan Munro is the second death in two years at the event. Last year company director Paul Litterick, 39, from Dundee, was found unconscious in his car.
He was pronounced dead in hospital. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
