Snoop Dogg has been charged with carrying a dangerous weapon at a Californian airport.
The US rapper, real name Calvin Broadus, was found with a collapsible truncheon as he boarded a flight to San Francisco at John Wayne airport in September.
If found guilty he faces up to three years in prison. A warrant, with a bail set at $150,000 (£80,000), has been issued for his arrest.
A lawyer for Broadus said: "These charges are bogus. The district attorney knows that. If this goes to trial, we will win."
The 35-year-old rapper told police at the time that the baton was a prop for a movie.
A statement from the district attorney's office said that the weapon was both "dangerous and illegal".
It is not the first time that Snoop Dogg has had a run in with the law. Last week he was arrested at a Californian airport on suspicion of illegal drug and gun possession.
Police allegedly found a gun and an amount of cannabis in his car after he was stopped for parking in a loading zone. The rapper paid bail of $35,000 (£18,500) and is due to appear before court on December 12th.
And in April of this year he and members of his entourage spent a night in a cell at Heathrow airport after a dispute over who was allowed to sit in a first class lounge escalated and left seven police officers with minor injuries.
