Gwen Stefani has given birth to her second child, her publicist has confirmed.

"Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy," Dave Tomberlin revealed in a statement.

Stefani, 38, gave birth to husband Gavin Rossdale's son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale yesterday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital.

Zuma weighed 8lb 5oz, Tomberlin added. He is the younger brother of two-year-old Kingston, the couple's first child.

Stefani shot to fame in the 90s with her band No Doubt, whose hit album Tragic Kingdom included the hits Don't Speak and Just A Girl.

She has maintained a healthy solo career since then, with her 2006 record The Sweet Escape following up the aptly named Love. Angel. Music. Baby.
