Robbie Williams 'not engaged to girlfriend'

Robbie Williams has said he is not engaged to his girlfriend Ayda Field, despite his mother saying he was planning to pop the question.
Williams simply wrote on his website "hey all. We are not engaged rob x", under the heading 'Robbie And Ayda: Are They Or Aren't They?'
The rumours stemmed from a comment Williams made on an Australian radio show, with his mother Jan later telling BBC 5 he has been planning to propose. She added: "I've always wanted a daughter-in-law."
The engagement confusion came about when Williams asked Field to marry him live on Sydney's 2Day FM.
He said: "Will you marry me? I love you so much, would you mind being my betrothed until the end of time?"
Field replied: "I would love to be your betrothed until the end of time."
It has since emerged the 'engagement' was just a prank.
Earlier this month, Williams told Jonathan Ross on his show that he thought he was "going to be a bachelor" until he met Field.
