Mutya Buena has said she might still be a member of the Sugababes if her former group-mates had been more supportive.

The 21-year-old, who has now launched a solo career, admitted that she struggled to cope when she became a mum.

But the singer said her fellow Sugababes Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range didn't give her the space she needed.

"What would have been perfect would be if the girls had left me a tiny bit alone and stopped pressuring me," Mutya told RTW Magazine.

"If they'd just given me a bit more time, I'd love to still be in the Sugababes."

Mutya also revealed that she has not spoken to Heidi since leaving the group and that her efforts to clear the air had been rebuffed.

"Me and Heidi haven't spoken since I left," she explained. "I did try to make peace by going down to CD:UK but I didn't quite get a good response.

"I don't read whatever the girls say anymore, I'm not that interested, but I did try to talk to them. Heidi was supposedly too hurt to talk to me."

Mutya has done a series of live performances since striking out on her own, the most recent being MTV's Spanking New Music Night in Bristol last week.

Her debut album, which she describes as her "own sound", is due for release in June.
