Michael Jackson's body will finally be laid to rest on August 29th, a family spokesman has confirmed.

The pop legend will be buried at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.

The date of the private funeral will coincide with what would have been Jackson's 51st birthday.

A statement released on Tuesday declared: "The private ceremony will be limited to family and close friends."

It was announced last week a tribute concert for Jackson will be held in Vienna on September 26th.

The original plans for the show, at London's O2 Arena, were scrapped after promoters failed to finalise agreements with performers.

Jackson's brother Jermaine told talkshow host Larry King the Austrian capital had been chosen as the new venue because Michael "loved castles".

Tickets for the show are due to go on sale on Thursday.
