inthenews.co.uk's Daniel Barnes is almost flattened by the amazing Spiritualized.
Jason Pierce continually manages to bare his soul and seeing the spaceman up close is a rare privilege.
Recent life-threatening respiratory illness may have seen Pierce turn to his backing singer angels, but Spiritualized still hit a massive punch.
In a special gig to mark the release of the magnificent Songs in A + E, I joined a reasonably exclusive crowd to see the band.
We took a deep breath and exhaled with joy as the set played out.
Death Take Your Fiddle, a modern folk tune of despair almost knocked me over as the set verged from mammoth intensity to quiet sensitivity.
The band climaxed with You Lie, You Cheat, which just grew and grew to a massive crescendo, with the angels pushing out joy from their diaphragms.
My tip for Glastonbury - forget Jay-Z and head over to Spiritualized for a truly spiritual moment.
