Daniel Andrews sees a powerful performance from the smooth-voiced Aussie hit by unfortunate technical problems.

Daniel Merriweather's performance at Bloomsbury Ballroom was far from ready for public release, despite the 26-year-old's debut album, Love & War, entering the charts at number two this week.

Appearing an hour late, after delays in the sound check, was only the start of the problems for Merriweather. Issues with his guitarist began with Chainsaw, which opened the set. A slow of the mark roadie had to hunt down a guitar clip which was missing from the guitar. Later in the set with the acoustic change over, he received an un-tuned guitar.

It didn't stop there, not only did his guest singer Adele not show and have to be replaced at last minute, but the guest microphone had not been correctly sound checked and it wasn't until the last few words of Live by Nigh', that you heard her voice.

At this stage the song Stop seemed very relevant. But yet Daniel fought on.

Despite the problems you can not fault Daniel's own performance. Since he has been in the UK, his confidence and voice has grown to new heights. His cheesy grin is infectious in his personal interaction with his audience. He appears on stage with a renewed glow, probably enhanced due to the fact he is being joined on stage by producer Mark Ronson.

Not to disappoint he did bring out the song that brought him to fame, Stop Me... , but to everyone's surprise, Mark Ronson did not join him, even though he had just left the stage moments earlier from his own DJ set.

The set brought in a mix of his upbeat jazz tempos with some acoustic numbers. Daniel's voice really has no boundaries as he tries to reach high notes that must be painful for any man.

All in all, taking away the technical problems, Daniel out performed all expectations. It was just a shame that the technical issues brought down the mood for the evening.
