Reunited indie favourites Blur have signed up Klaxons and Florence and the Machine to support them at their Manchester comeback show.

The Parklife band are to headline the Glastonbury, T in the Park and Oxegen festivals this summer as well as performing at two huge concerts in Hyde Park this July.

And for their concert at the Manchester Evening News Arena on June 26th, the quartet have named Mercury winners Klaxons and rising star Florence and the Machine as their support acts.

"Every show Blur play this summer is going to be unique and different, so we're delighted Klaxons and Florence and the Machine have agreed to join us for the evening," said Blur manager Chris Morrison.

"Blur are really looking forward to this gig – they’ve always had an amazing reception in Manchester."

Kiss With A Fist star Florence Welch was amazed at the announcement, telling NME.com: 'Woahhhh! I'm really excited about supporting Blur in Manchester. I can't comprehend that it is happening to be honest!"

Blur announced their reunion in December, with the summer concert set to mark their first performance as a four-piece in nine years.

Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree have not performed together as a quartet since a show at London's Royal Festival Hall in 2000.

Coxon quit the band in 2002 but he and Albarn have put their differences behind them to confirm the summer shows.
