Kings of Leon have claimed quitting drugs and promiscuity has helped them in their rise to the top.
The Followills claimed the first number one single of their career with Sex on Fire at the weekend and fourth LP Only By The Night is likely to achieve the same heights in the album charts after its September 22nd release.
And while the quartet's rise to fame had been accompanied by tales of their hard partying and popularity with women, frontman Caleb has revealed that staying away from drugs and settling down with long-term relationships has made the band stronger.
"It's eased a lot of the tensions that we had personally," he told the Sun newspaper. "It's made this a lot easier on us. When we used to come over here to Britain, it was pretty stressful.
"You were in your hotel room all by yourself all day. You wake up and it's already dark out and you're so lonely.
"So at night, you go out with girls."
But he revealed the foursome's new outlook in adding: "At the end of the day, you want to be doing something that will, hopefully, be remembered.
"You want that to be on the cover of the magazines, and the other stuff to be the blurb. As opposed to that on the magazine cover and the music as a blurb."
Only By The Night is released on September 22nd.
