Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has expressed his frustration at reports of a feud between his band and Oasis.

Speaking in August, Noel Gallagher had compared the I Predict A Riot stars to 60s group the Monkees.

Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson hit back by accusing Gallagher of seeking publicity but now Wilson has called for an end to reports of a "feud".

"It was quite exciting at first," he told BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme, "but now I just can't be bothered talking about it anymore.

"This is the band I grew up with. They're one of the biggest bands in the world and one of my favourites.

"I read things that I supposedly said and it doesn't even sound like my voice. It just frustrates me. I can't go into an interview now without talking about it."

Gallagher had joked to DJ Chris Moyles that the Monkees had not split up but were "just going under the name of the Kaiser Chiefs".

He added: "I did drugs for 18 years and I never got that bad as to say, 'You know what? I think the Kaiser Chiefs are brilliant'."

In response, Hodgson commented: "It is funny though, because it does happen [Gallagher criticising other bands] every single time they put out an album. And the last two albums it's been us [who have been targeted]."

He went on: "When I was 17 and Noel was going on about Blur I was watching it, and now I'm 30 and he's 50 and he's talking about us, it's brilliant."

Kaiser Chiefs new album Off With Their Heads is released on October 20th.
