A planned auction of items from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch has been cancelled after a last-minute settlement was reached.
Hollywood auctioneer Julien's Auction House was due to put nearly 1,400 of the Thriller star's possessions up for sale between April 22nd and April 25th, with a judge denying a motion to stop the auction just ten days ago.
But after Jackson's company MJJ Productions and the auction house reached an agreement to call off the sale, a lawsuit has been dropped and the 50-year-old's possessions will be returned to him.
While the specific terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, an exhibition of the items planned for auction will remain open in Los Angeles until the end of next week.
"There was so much interest from so many of Jackson's fans that instead of putting the items in the hands of private collectors, Dr Tohme and Julien's Auction House have made arrangements that will allow the collection to be shared with and enjoyed by Jackson's fans for many years to come," read a joint statement from Jackson spokesman Dr Tohme R Tohme and auction organizer Darren Julien.
Items in the sale - set to take place in Beverly Hills - included the wrought iron front gates to the Neverland Ranch, a white glove the pop star wore in the video for his 1983 hit Billie Jean and a carousel horse given to Jackson by actress Elizabeth Taylor.
