Breakthrough rock band Hard-Fi will be one of the star attractions playing at the huge free Orange Evolution Festival this summer, organisers have confirmed.
The Stars of CCTV group will play alongside several of the industry's biggest names at Freevolution 06, a ten-day event, beginning on May 18th and culminating on May bank holiday 29th at the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside.
As well as Hard-Fi, Graham Coxon, The Freestylers, Orson, The Go! Team and Boy Kill Boy are all taking part.
Festival director Jim Mawdsley welcomed all the bands' confirmations and spoke of his belief that the event will be one of the highlights of the summer.
"Music fans will be hard pushed to find a free music festival anywhere in Europe to rival Orange Evolution this year," he said.
Other acts playing at the event include The Proclaimers, Sway, The On-Offs, and The Sunshine Underground.
