Troubled pop star George Michael is again under mounting criticism after yet another shocking motoring incident.
Safety campaigners have today expressed serious criticism of the former Wham! man after he fell asleep at the wheel before crashing into a bollard in north London.
The accident was Michael's third crash in as many months and has provoked an angry response, including from Tory MP Robert Goodwill, of the Commons transport committee.
"It is very worrying that a role model like George Michael is seen behaving so irresponsibly," he said. "He shouldn't be behind the wheel at all."
Fellow Tory MP Lee Scott has also urged police to investigate the incident, although this is thought to be unlikely.
Michael, real name Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, 42, has endured a torrid few months in the public eye.
He escaped any action for colliding with three parked cars on Easter Sunday and was previously cautioned for drug possession after again being found asleep at the wheel of his car.
