Sultry singer Katie Melua has had a pretty pink tulip named after her.
The pink, white-edged Tulipa Crispa Roze has been renamed Tulipa Katie Melua after the best-selling artist.
The brunette singer, who sold more than a million albums in the UK last year, said: "It is unexpected but really quite flattering."
Melua, who grew up in Belfast, is particularly popular in Holland, the home of the tulip. Her album Piece by Piece was so well-received there it went triple platinum.
Other artists which have had specially-cultivated tulips named after them include Dutch artist Rembrandt and rock group Pink Floyd.
Jan Huiberts, director of AGrass, the cultivators that helped produce the tulip over a 15-year period, said: "Katie Melua is a beautiful woman with a wonderful character and an exceptional voice.
"The people of the Netherlands love her and it was a very natural choice to honour her by naming this tulip after her."
