Attendees at this year's Glastonbury festival can leave one essential behind when they pack their bags this summer: loo roll.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis has said that enough toilet roll will be provided for every festival goer as well as the support staff and bar workers set to descend upon Somerset in June.

But, as expected with Glastonbury and Mr Eavis, the toilet roll provided will not be a regular offering, but an environmentally friendly form of tissue that will make the cleanup at Worthy Farm a lot easier than in previous years.

Mr Eavis said: "We're encouraging people to be as green as possible at this year's festival.

"The definitive example of our policy is our decision to invite Nouvelle on board as an official recycling partner to the festival, to give away free recycled toilet tissue.

"They are providing hundreds of thousands of free loo rolls and our message is very simple: do not bring loo roll to the festival. There will be more than enough for everyone and, more importantly, it will be the right kind of loo roll."

This year's event sold out in record time and acts include Arctic Monkeys, the Killers, the Who, Shirley Bassey and Klaxons.

In addition to the Pyramid stage and the Other stage at the festival, another area will allow artists to play shorter sets in a more relaxed environment.

Called the Park area, solo acoustic performances will be common place as well as sporadically positioned pianos for people to congregate around.
