Dreamgirls actress Jennifer Hudson is to make Vogue history by becoming the first black singer to appear on its cover.
Jennifer, 25, will become the third ever black woman to grace the cover of the iconic fashion magazine by following in the footsteps of legendary chat-show host Oprah Winfrey and Monster's Ball actress Halle Berry.
The Chicago-born beauty, who plays Effie White in the box-office hit alongside Destiny's Child star Beyonce, was photographed by Annie Leibovitz in New York City's Harlem theatre.
The actress was voted off the third series of US talent show American Idol in 2004 despite being one of the favourites to win.
However Jennifer has had the last laugh after picking up a host of shiny awards to decorate her home with, including a Golden Globe and a Bafta for best actress in a supporting role.
And that's not all. In only 12 days Jennifer could be adding an Oscar to her collection of prizes after receiving a nomination. Yet she faces stiff competition in her category from high profile actresses including Cate Blanchett.
By gracing the cover of the March edition, called the "power issue", Jennifer has really shown American Idol judge Simon Cowell what she can do. Go girl!
