Coldplay have claimed two awards at the 2008 Q magazine awards.
The foursome's most recent album Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends took the best album prize while Chris Martin and company were also named best band in the world.
Upon collecting the best album prize, Chris Martin announced he planned to bore the London audience, and launched into a lengthy acceptance speech.
Having declared Coldplay were "the greatest band in the world", he then joked: "U2 are on holiday".
And collecting the best act in the world prize he added: "I don't think we're the best act in the room, let alone the world."
