Former Radio 1 DJ Andy Kershaw has been instructed to leave the Isle of Man to live with his mother after being released from prison.
The 48-year-old had been released from jail on Friday after serving a 44-day sentence for breaking the terms of a restraining order regarding his ex-partner.
But he was returned to jail on Monday after reportedly visiting Juliette Banner's home in Peel in the early hours of the morning.
Michael Moyle, the high bailiff, has now agreed to give Kershaw a suspended sentence on the condition that he leaves the Isle of Man and returns to his mother's home in Rochdale to recover.
The high bailiff's court in Douglas heard that, shortly before his release from prison, Kershaw had received a letter from his new partner saying their relationship was over.
According to the BBC, he then sent abusive text and voicemail messages to Ms Banner - the mother of his two children - and her new partner, prison officer Jim Imrie.
Passing the sentence on Tuesday, Mr Moyle told Kershaw he "cut a miserable and pathetic figure", adding: "Look at you, you look awful."
The high bailiff continued: "I would encourage you to look at yourself long and hard.
"You must be breaking the heart of your mother and sister. You drink to excess and you can't accept that Mr Imrie is the man of Miss Banner's choice, not you."
He concluded: "On the clear understanding you will leave the Isle of Man forthwith, I'm prepared to give you one final chance.
"I'm not banning you from the island, I merely suggest you take a considerable break in the company of your family."
Kershaw told reporters outside the court he had been given "a really wonderful last chance".
"I've been stupid and I'm not going to squander this opportunity," he added.
