Dirty Pretty Things are set to play a one-off gig in London's Pentonville prison on bank holiday Monday.
The band, founded by former Libertines co-frontman Carl Barat, are playing the date to raise awareness of suicide among young inmates.
Organised by the Wasted Youth Campaign, Dirty Pretty Things will also be joined by recent chart toppers the Enemy.
Barat has visited the prison before after his former bandmate Pete Doherty spent a spell there for breaking into Barat's flat.
The singer's publicist said: "They asked Carl to do it and told us how many young males are killing themselves every year, especially in prisons. It was a case of 'hang on, what can we do about it?'"
The gig echoes prison concerts carried out by country legend Johnny Cash in the 1950s which culminated in a set of prison recordings and the song Folsom Prison Blues.
