No resolution has been reached in the case concerning a restraining order against Britney Spears' former manager Sam Lutfi.
The Toxic star's father Jamie, who has temporary control of her affairs, filed a request against Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley in January, claiming both men were a danger to the singer.
It emerged earlier this month that Lutfi and Britney's ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib had smuggled a mobile telephone to Britney, resulting in the recent application for a permanent restraining order against Lutfi and Eardley (a permanent order was passed against Ghalib last month).
But after closing arguments were heard in a Los Angeles court yesterday, judge Aviva Bobb ruled the hearing will continue on April 28th.
Samuel Ingham, court-appointed lawyer to mother-of-two Britney, told the court his client's mental and physical wellbeing had "improved dramatically" since her father Jamie was given temporary conservatorship of her estate over a year ago.
"[A permanent restraining order against them] is in my client's best interest," he added. "She has suffered emotional distress."
Since Jamie Spears was granted control of his daughter's estate, she has made a public recovery from the apparent mental breakdown that saw her hospitalised in 2008, releasing a new album and embarking on a new tour.
Lutfi's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied any wrongdoing on the part of his client, saying Britney's former manager was responding to the pop star's "cries for help".
"Not one threat or act or violence was directed at Britney Spears," Freedman added.
The hearing continues on April 28th though Britney will not take the stand during the hearing, after judge Bobb upheld the 14-month-old ruling that the Piece of Me singer "lacks the capacity to testify".
