Singers Chris Brown and Rihanna reconciled following Brown's arrest for attacking the Umbrella star with a late-night duet, it has been claimed.
Brown, 19, was charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats at a court in Los Angeles last week, after being arrested in February over an incident in Hancock Park.
It had not previously been confirmed the victim of the alleged assault was Rihanna. But court documents showed the woman in question was Robyn F - otherwise known as Umbrella singer Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenton.
However, despite Brown facing a possible three-year sentence over the attack - in which he is believed to have punched and bitten Rihanna, 21 - the couple are said to have reconciled.
And according to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com, the pop stars' attempt to strengthen their relationship included emotional late-night recording sessions, which involved 'playful touching'.
TMZ reports music producer Polow Da Don convinced the singers to enter the studio together to record a love song, inspired by their heightened emotional states.
Both agreed and took part in some "very, very emotional" sessions, a source was quoted as saying.
"The feeling in the room was pure love," the source claimed, adding the couple were "playfully touching each other".
It is thought the track in question had been initially planned as a song for Rihanna only but could now be released as a duet.
Rihanna has not publicly commented on the case or a photo of her reported injuries, but court documents revealed that Brown is accused of attacking Rihanna after an argument broke out over a text from another woman.
He apparently tried to force her out of their rented Lamborghini, hitting her head against the passenger window and punching her in the face.
