George Michael has been arrested and cautioned by police after being found in possession of cannabis, slumped at the wheel of his car.
The singer was taken to hospital after officers found him in a semi-conscious state in his Mercedes in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police had received calls that Michael's vehicle was causing an obstruction at traffic lights, in what is the singer's fourth motoring incident in eight months, including three occasions involving him falling asleep at the wheel.
"At approximately 03:22 BST on Sunday October 1st officers were informed of a stationary vehicle with a driver inside at traffic lights on Cricklewood Lane near its junction with Hendon Way, NW2 causing an obstruction.
"Officers arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of being unfit to drive and possession of a controlled substance, believed to be cannabis," a police statement said.
Police added that the singer, who is currently just one week into his first solo world tour for 15 years, was taken to a west London hospital as a "precautionary measure".
"He was then taken into custody at a west London police station and later cautioned for possession of cannabis and bailed to return on a date in November in relation to the allegation of being unfit to drive," a spokesperson added.
Michael's partner Kenny Goss told the Sun newspaper: "He has nothing to say. He's fine and I've got him a McDonald's," he added, commenting from the couple's north London home last night."
