After being shot nine times in 2000 everyone knows US rapper 50 Cent's urban lifestyle is the real deal - but it's just not cool to be arrested for failing to turn your indicators on.
The superstar, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was caught allegedly switching lanes without indicating yesterday as he took his new Lamborghini sports car for a ride in Manhattan.
New York police jumped on the star like a ton of bricks and were, shall we say, a little upset to discover his driving licence was expired, he couldn't prove he possessed car insurance, and he lacked a vehicle registration.
A crowd quickly gathered to watch the star's rather awkward negotiations with the police, which ended when he was cuffed and driven away to a nearby police station.
Reports suggest he managed to get staff to bring along the required documents before being released, but it appears the 31-year-old rapper has received citations for his offences.
As a result he might have to pay as much as $220 (£118) as a penalty. Observers have suggested that the star, who has sold over 22 million albums, will probably be able to afford the penalty.
