A home video of Marilyn Monroe allegedly smoking marijuana has been made public for the first time, some 50 years after it was filmed.
The silent footage, recovered from an attic in New Jersey, shows the Hollywood star relaxing on a couch smoking with friends at an intimate gathering.
It was recently bought by US collector Keya Morgan for $275,000 (£166,000) who is making a documentary on the actress.
The original film-maker, who wishes to remain anonymous, confirmed the cigarette in the footage contained marijuana.
"I got it – it was mine. It was just passed around," he said.
"It was not a party. It was just a get-together. You know, "come over and hang out."
He added: "This is a personal side of her we've never seen before."
The footage will be put up for sale on eBay later this week.
