Oscar-nominated actor Will Smith is to star in new instalments of two successful franchises, reports claim.
The Hancock star has reportedly agreed to star in a third Men in Black film, potentially to be made in 3D, as well as a third film in the Bad Boys action series.
Smith's Bad Boys co-star Martin Lawrence told MTV he had discussed a third film in the crime franchise with Smith and director Michael Bay and both were now keen to begin development.
"I got Big Willie to come down and see me about the movie," Lawrence remarked. "I felt special.
"Any time you can get Big Willie to come out and talk about doing a third instalment of a hot movie like Bad Boys, you have to take notice.
"I met with Michael Bay, and he said he's onboard too - so it's real."
And according to celebrity blog Showbiz 411, Smith will rejoin another former co-star - Tommy Lee Jones - for a third instalment of the Men in Black movies.
Showbiz 411 confirmed earlier remarks made by Sony president Rory Bruer at the ShoWest trade show by announcing Smith and Jones would return as Agents J and K, with director Barry Sonnenfeld also scheduled to return.
It is believed the third Men in Black film would be filmed in 3D and fast-tracked for a summer 2011 release, with Sony keen to find a big release to fill the gap created by the cancellation of the planned fourth Spider-Man movie.
