Twilight actor Robert Pattinson has been hit by a taxi attempting to escape a horde of fans in New York, reports suggest.
Pattinson is thought to have tried to run across a street in Manhattan to get away from the crowd but ended up being struck by a passing vehicle.
People magazine reports the 23-year-old got up following the incident and walked away apparently unhurt.
The British actor had been in New York filming his next movie Remember Me.
Ever since appearing in Twilight in 2008 Pattinson has become a global superstar and is regularly hounded by fans desperate to get a glimpse of him.
People reports Pattinson has now hired his own security team as well as the bodyguards provided by the studio to keep fans at bay.
