Action sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has debuted at the top of the UK box office charts with a huge £8.35 million opening.
The Paramount Pictures film, based on the popular line of toys, achieved the biggest opening of the year in the UK as it stormed to the number one spot after its first weekend on release.
The Michael Bay movie's debut easily surpasses the previous record holder Terminator Salvation - which took £6.94 million earlier this month - but falls short of The Dark Knight's £8.6 million debut in 2008.
